St Wilfrids Hospice
The annual vintage sale in the Assembly Rooms, North Street on Friday 5th September was held by St Wilfrid’s Hospice.
The event was a great opportunity for shoppers to purchase a variety of authentic vintage items such as cloths, jewellery, ladies accessories, toys and furniture. Lot’s of people were sourcing outfits for the Goodwood Revival this weekend (12th September – 14th September).
The St Wilfrid’s Hospice vintage sale was really well attended with vintage lovers coming from as far afield as Petworth, Brighton and Portsmouth. The organisers were welcomed with a considerable queue of bargain hunters when the doors opened, despite the wet weather.
The scene was complimented with music from Dawn’s Vintage Do and shoppers could take a break and enjoy the music with tea and cakes in the tearoom.
A staggering £8,000 was raised for the St Wilfrid’s Hospice. With running costs of just under £6.7m a year for the hospice to operate, this is a really important fund raising event as only 12% of the running costs are funded by the NHS.
