Moving to Dell Quay

Are you moving to Dell Quay? It’s one of the smallest and oldest ports in Sussex and is just southwest of Chichester. The quay was built in 1536 as a port for Chichester, with all goods such as wool, grain and coal coming in by sea through the port.

Connections

The A286 runs close to the village, it’s easy to connect with the A27 and trains from Chichester to London take 90 minutes, Brighton takes 50 minutes and Portsmouth just over 30 minutes.

Moving To Oving.

If you are thinking of moving to a village location, moving to Oving could be a very good choice. Oving village is situated in West Sussex, two miles east of the Cathedral City of Chichester. It is bounded on the west and north sides of the village by the A2259. The Chichester-Bognor road runs to the south. The surrounding landscape is mainly given to agriculture with some growing of salad crops

Excellent connections, the A227 and A559 are both close to the village. The Main line railway station at Chichester runs two trains an hour to London taking 90 minutes. There are three trains an hour to Brighton taking 50 minutes and trains to Portsmouth taking 30 minutes.

Moving to Funtington

Overview

Funtington is one of the most popular villages in West Sussex. It is within easy traveling distance of Chichester and is nestled at the foot of the South Downs. The village has a thriving local community with a village shop and post office and a beautiful 13th Century church. The neighbouring village of West Ashling has a very good organic butcher. The South Downs National Park provides excellent opportunities for walking and horse riding. Thinking of moving to Bosham?

Overview

Bosham near Chichester is thought to have been the birth and burial place of the last Saxon King Harold. It was from Bosham that he sailed for Normandy in 1064. The church of Bosham is depicted in the Bayeux Tapestry. The Doomsday Book listed Bosham as one of the wealthiest manors in England.

These days the small coastal village forms part of Chichester harbour and is served by Bosham railway station which is situated in Broadbridge. It has an active sailing club and plenty of good places to eat. The White Swan in Station Road is always popular and serves an excellent beef and Guinness stew.
Marwick’s Brasserie in Bosham Lane does a very fine Green Thai curry on their “Thai Tuesdays”, which is well worth a try.

Bosham Primary School, Chidham Parochial Primary School and Funtington Primary all have a good reputation. Chichester College is just short of 3 miles away.
