Moving to Lyndhurst

Are you thinking of moving to Hampshire; the village of Lyndhurst would make an excellent choice. It’s the largest village in the New Forest, It’s been the haunt of royalty and the nobility for centuries. and was considered the ‘capital’ of the area when William the Conqueror had his hunting grounds here.

Many Kings and Queens have visited Lyndhurst’s manor house now called Queens House in Lyndhurst High Street. Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland was based on Alice Liddell (later Hargreaves) who lived in Lyndhurst and is buried in the graveyard of St Michael and All Angels church. It’s a magnificent gothic church with a 49-metre spire and well worth a visit.

Burgess Hill contains one nature reserve, Bedelands and Ditchling Common Country Park, a 188-acre area of common land, set up in 1975. In the town centre the largest park is St. John’s Park, with smaller recreation grounds around the town. The Triangle leisure centre Replaced the lido in St. Johns Park. Burgess Hill has an independent cinema, The Orion Cinema. Opened in 1928, has two screens and shows a mixture of mainstream and arthouse films. Burgess Hill is home to the Mid Sussex Brass Band which has a second section contesting main band and a thriving youth band. As well as supporting local fetes and concerts, the band plays at concerts throughout the year in venues from Horsham to Hever Castle, and travels to Schmallenberg, Burgess Hill’s German twin town.

Burgess Hill has a Symphony Orchestra, which draws its members from Burgess Hill and the surrounding area. The Orchestra puts on two classical concerts each year, normally in May and November. Burgess Hill Choral Society perform two concerts every year, just before Christmas and in the spring.

Moving to Ryde Isle of Wight

 

Should you be considering moving to Ryde you will discover Ryde is the largest town on the Isle of Wight. Ryde sits in a very prominent position on the seafront close to the passenger ferry and hovercraft terminals. When considering moving to Boxgrove, West Sussex, you may already know it is famous for the discovery, in 1993 of an early Human species, ‘Homo Heildelgergens’, thought to be 500,000 years old, called Boxgrove Man. Moving to Romsey

Should you be considering moving to Romsey you will find it is a very well connected ancient market town , not cheap but it has a lot going for it, not least a Waitrose!
