Elmsworth butcher Treagust celebrates 90 years in business.
The pretty coastal town of Emsworth near Chichester is lucky enough to have an array of independent shops and restaurants and has been a much sought after destination for food lovers.
Emsworth family butcher HH Treagust and Sons celebrates 90 years in business by getting involved with the Elmsworth British Food Fortnight.
Harry Hurst Treagust founded the business in 1924 and it is still very much a family affair, with Richard Treagust being the fourth generation to own the shop. He works along side his wife Sue and cousin Raymond Treagust. Richard’s son Ben also works alongside his father and is the fifth generation to join the business.
There will be an exhibition in Emsworth museum with photographs and documents from the Treagust family archive. The exhibition is scheduled to coincide with the British Food Fortnight, which runs from September 20th to October 5th.
Richard Treagust said “This is a very proud moment for us, despite out-of-town competition from supermarkets, we pride ourselves on traditional values, good service and quality to our customers.”
